Can you do paintings from photographs?
Yes we can. Please see our 'Upload Photo' section for details and also check out our 'Examples' section of just how good these paintings can be.
Are your paintings completely, 100%, totally hand painted?
Photo Art Reproduction painting reproductions are always totally hand painted using premium grade oil paints on premium-grade commercial canvas. Our paintings are never a lithographic transfer “follow the brush strokes” paint-by-numbers product. They are never a print of any kind; never mechanically or electronically produced; never mass produced; never a scanned image; never a print on canvas; never textured with rollers or sprayers because we believe people still do it best.
How can I pay for my painting?
All credit card payments are made through our highly secure, bank-authorized credit card processor Worldpay. We do not see your credit card details (so please don’t email them!) and prefer to leave such transactions to the professionals. Furthermore, all credit card purchases are guaranteed by your own credit company as well as by the processor.
How will you ship my painting?
Worldwide shipping is FREE!! We can ship paintings anywhere in the world, to any country covered by such postal express companies as FedEx, DHL or UPS. When you are placing an order, on the Shipping Information page where you enter your name and address, you can select your area of the world from the drop-down list.
What way are my paintings shipped?
All paintings are sent rolled in a sturdy tube. The canvas itself is protected by a plastic sheet to protect it during transport. The tube itself is closed with watertight caps over which tape is applied so you can be sure the painting is delivered to you in undamaged condition. When you receive your unframed canvas, you can have it stretched by any professional framing shop.
How long will it take to receive my painting/s?
Most paintings take about 12 to 14 business days to complete. However, very large, highly detailed or textured paintings may take slightly longer. Shipping usually takes between 3 and 7 business working days, depending on the destination and time of year. In the Christmas period delays occur more often. If you have opted for an Express courier service you can track of your painting during shipping. We send you the tracking number by email after your art work has been picked up by the courier. In all your painting should take no more than 28 business days to arrive, in most cases this is considerably shorter.
Will their be any import duty or taxes on my painting?
Although we pay shipping any local Customs’ fees or tax is the responsibility of the customer. In our experience, most paintings arrive without any tax being levied, although some countries (such as Australia, Italy and some states in America) do occasionally levy a quarantine fee or import tax. Usually there are no duties for paintings shipped in small quantities.
What about copyright?
All the paintings on our site are either in the public domain (no longer protected by copyright) or being sold under license, meaning you need not worry about infringing on anyone’s rights. We will be adding more artrists in the future and will secure their permission to reproduce their paintings.
What if I’m not satisfied with my reproduction?
Once your painting is finished we will email digital photos of it to you, including close-up detail shots. At this point you are invited to continue your involvement in the creative process of your portrait by requesting any revisions you might want done. We do ask that you not request any revisions which are contrary or in addition to the original photograph(s) and/or instructions you provided. If you would like any major revisions made (including a repaint) that are contrary or in addition to the original photograph(s) and/or instructions you provided, you may be asked to pay a slight additional fee. You may ask for revisions up to 3 times before you decide to accept or reject your portrait. If you do decide to reject the portrait for any reason at this point, your purchase will be refunded 100%.
